Dear Golfers,
It sure doesn’t feel like it, but it is almost golf season again! Although everyone is sick and tired of shoveling all this snow, snow is one of the best protections grass can get from the winter weather. We did have a couple of big rain storms early in the winter but a combination of a good snow base and the ground not being frozen should allow for excellent course conditions this spring. With a little luck the course will be in the same great shape as it was when we put it to bed for the winter last fall.
The renovations to the men’s restroom will soon be completed. The women’s restroom was not renovated this winter, but, Ladies, don’t worry, we will be doing yours this fall. By doing the men’s room first, all of Kevin and Peter’s mistakes will be in the men’s room! We also have been working on our web page that will include a calendar page with all the course tournaments, a monthly update page, and a page where you can contact us along with links to other sites. Summer plans include building a new forward tee on #2 for the ladies along with continued work on previous projects. We are pleased to be hosting the MSGA’s Father-Son tournament this year on June 8th. The Jim Browne Scholarship tournament is going to be held this year on July 26 so get your teams ready!
Most of you have either already noticed, or soon will, that the large pine tree that stood beside the 2nd tee is unfortunately now gone. C.M.P. felt that the tree was rotten and too close to the transmission line to leave up any longer. Now the big hitters can really let it fly on the 4th hole.
The crew is filling in nicely with lots of familiar faces and some new, all looking forward to seeing you this spring. Let’s hope March goes out like a lamb and before you know it, we’ll be swinging those clubs!
See you soon,
The Browne Family
