March 14, 2011 Dear Golfers,
The weather wasn’t looking good as far as an early opening was concerned, but these last couple of days sure has the golfer in us stirring. As always, we hope this letter finds you in good health and in good spirits.
The snowfall this winter helped us keep the ski trails in excellent shape and those of you who were able to take advantage of them have seen some of the work being done around the course.
One of the larger projects includes the remodel of the bar at the clubhouse, which will make a big difference in the look of the reception hall. Also, those of you who played late in the season last year know that we were preparing the ground for a new maintenance building. In that process we will rebuild the second tee, add a pro tee and a senior tee. Also as a result of that process, a mound was created to develop hole separation between the second and forth holes. We continued to add topsoil this winter; which will, as long as the weather cooperates, allow us to have those tees ready before the full swing of the summer golf season starts.
These projects and the improvements we have made in the past are part of our commitment to the development of not only the golf course but also to the surrounding communities. In order to keep your experience here at Lakewood welcoming and fun for all we are again going to keep our prices the same. Thank you all for your support of our golf course and we look forward to growing together in the future. Think warm weather and before we know it we will be swinging those clubs. We cannot wait to see you on the course. See you soon, The Brownes
