Dear Golfers,
Spring is here! If March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, does that mean the reverse is true, too? Well, let’s hope not. We hope this letter finds you in good health and good spirits. The course looks to be in excellent shape and if the weather continues with its recent trend, this year could be one of the earliest openings on record.

As most of you know we tried some X-country ski trails this year.  In the early winter the trails were in great shape and the skiing was wonderful. It was great to look out our windows and see some of you skiing by. Unfortunately, around the same time we got our fliers out, it began to rain and the snow never really recovered.  We plan to continue the trails in the future and would like to offer the skiing as part of your course membership.

This year we are once again going to keep our prices the same as last year.  However, there will be some changes. We realize that our cart prices are a little difficult to afford on a consistent basis so we will be offering a cart rental season pass.  The cost will be $700.00 per person for the entire season.  We hope this will help as many of you play as much golf as you can.

We would also like to encourage our membership to use the clubhouse more.  Over the last few years we have been busy making improvements to the interior as well as the exterior, including adding a backyard.  The backyard will have a picnic area as well as space to play croquet or bocce ball. There is no charge to our members to use this area and we hope it becomes a nice area to relax in and enjoy. Our hall rental for special events is normally $500.00, but we will now be offering a rental price of $400.00 for our members. Please ask Peter for details and he can answer any questions.

On the course this year we are planning to make some changes to the second hole by adding a gold tee, redoing the white tee and possibly even adding a blue tee.   We will also finish the green tee on the 8th hole, and don’t worry, we have not forgotten about the drainage project on the 14th hole. At the end of last year the crew started to build the Jim Browne Memorial Bridge on the 12th hole. If the weather cooperates we would like to have the bridge completed by the J.H.B. Memorial Tournament on August 21.  This is a project that is long overdue but in true Jim fashion we were not going to rush into anything.  People often ask to donate money to his memorial but instead we ask that you continue to support the Bob and Jim Browne scholarship and tournament.  Thanks as always for your past and future support.

Looking out the window right now it looks as though we will be playing golf in no time.  Can’t wait to see you out on the course!

                  Sincerely,
                  The Brownes
